Resorts World on target for opening by end of 2020
Malaysia-based Genting Group is sticking to its target of opening the $4 billion Resorts World Las Vegas by the end of 2020 as some analysts begin to question the timeline. “We are still tracking initial opening by end of 2020,” spokesman Michael Levoff said. Genting activated construction at the site last year, and visible progress has been made. Nonetheless, much remains to be done, including finishing the glass siding.

Vegas Rock Star: Hard Rock Hotel Glams it up with $750 Million Expansion Southwest Contractor
The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino knows cool. Since 1995, the stylish Las Vegas hotspot at 4455 Paradise Road has hosted such live acts as the Rolling Stones, David Bowie and Snoop Dogg. Now the 647-room Hard Rock is about to more than double its cool. The 16.7-acre complex is undergoing a $750 million addition and upgrade, designed by Klai Juba Architects, the Las Vegas firm responsible for Mandalay Bay and Four Seasons Hotel. New York City designer Mark Zeff is creating the interiors and 860 new guest rooms.

M. J. Dean Construction Achieving Business Excellence
Although there’s plenty of lucrative building work in Las Vegas, it’s not always possible to get complete and unfettered access to the site, as Alan T Swaby learns. From a vacationer’s point of view, possibly one of the biggest turn-offs possible is to find construction work taking place at the resort you’ve chosen. By the same token, few if any resort owners can afford to shut their premises down while major refurbishments are taking place. Somewhere in the middle is the contractor who has the responsibility of keeping both sides happy.

Paradise in the Palms – New Palms Place Grows Skyward In Las Vegas
Contractor M.J. Dean Construction is building the third tower at the Palms Casino Resort. The $350 million, 50-story concrete tower will provide almost 600 units for residences which can be rented out as hotel rooms to guests. Palms Place, an ultra-posh new condo-hotel, is taking shape a few blocks west of the Las Vegas Strip. The $350-million, 599-unit skyscraper is located next to the 34-acre, 664-room Palms Casino Resort at Flamingo Road and Arville Street. M.J. Dean Construction of Las Vegas, is the general contractor.
